Jamaica Mojito

May 4, 2010

Jamaica (pronounced ha-mai-kah) is known in the U.S as Hibiscus flower. The dried flowers are made into a concentrate that can be turned into an agua fresca or for this recipe, a refreshing Mexican cocktail.

  • 1 handful fresh mint leaves
  • 2 shots jamaica concentrate
  • 3-4 slices lime
  • 1 shot (1.25 ounces) quality light rum
  • Ice and club soda to fill glass

Preparation

  1. Gently muddle mint leaves, lime, and concentrate to blend flavors.
  2. Add ice, rum, and enough club soda to fill glass.
  3. Serve in a tall glass and garnish with a slice of lime and sprig of mint. Enjoy!
